Medicare and You

The Medicare Open Enrollment Period is an annual period of time (October 15 through December 7) when current Medicare users can choose to re-evaluate part of their Medicare coverage (their Medicare Advantage and/or Part D Plan) and compare it against all the other plans on the market. After re-evaluating, if you find a plan that is a better fit for your needs, you can then switch to, drop or add a Medicare Advantage or Part D plan.

Medicare is a national health insurance program for Americans aged 65 and older. Medicare is also available to individuals under 65 who may qualify with certain disabilities as determined by the Social Security Administration.

Different parts of Medicare may include:

  • Part A: Hospital Insurance
  • Part B: Medical Insurance

*Only covers 80% of visits. Most people buy a Medicare Supplement Plan to cover the difference.

  • Part C: Medicare Advantage Plans
  • Part D: Prescription Drug Plans
  • Medigap Plans: A, B, C**, D, F**, G, K, L,M and N.

**These plans will NOT be available to new enrollees starting January 2020.

Medicare guidelines are complicated and they can be hard to understand. Please call us today to talk to a license professional for more information.
